A bit expensive for the quality of plastic, but the fans are independent from each other which is awesome. This product performs well, but the plastic looks and feels cheap.
wow.more than happy--the ones that complain about a rattle probably dont have the fan mounted solidly in the window--i have mine on the sill and used L brackets to hold it in place screwed into the side panels and then to the metal side window -now no problem closing window-one solid fan replaced a durocraft with this model and the 2 are identical-seems to be made my same manufacturer-either the durocraft motors aged or the motors in the honeywell are much more powerful.
After going through the trouble of installing it and connecting it, the right fan sparked and quit instantly. We had one of these in our kitchen window for about 18 months (and it worked GREAT) when one fan started squealing and subsequently quit. Maybe I just had a lemon, but I'm looking for another brand and wish I could find the old metal ones like they had in the 60's and 70's. So I had to uninstall it, find the original packaging and have UPS pick it up. I accepted that as the useful life (given 12 hrs. a day of usage) and purchased an identical replacement.
the fan is made of cheap plastic but it actually cools the bedroom down especially in the winter when the landlord bring up alot of heat.
HONEYWELL HW 628 WINDOW FAN, BROKEN ON DELIVERY, FIXED & IS INSTALLED, WITH MY EXPERIENCES YOU WOULD THINK I SHOULD HAVE LEARNED MANY MOONS AGO ABOUT SHIPPING PROBLEMS.
